The Last Days of F. Scott Fitzgerald

On Sunday, July 22nd, 2012, I went on a walking tour of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s West Hollywood with LAVA. Our tour leader was Adrienne Crew, who is President of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Dorothy Parker Society and writes for LA Observed. She was a really good tour guide and provided lots of interesting information for each location.

Some of the places we saw on the tour were Fitzgerald’s apartment and the apartment of his mistress, Sheilah Graham, where he died in 1940.After the tour, some of us went to a deli on Sunset Blvd. that Scott and Sheilah liked to eat at, Greenblatt’s. I recommend the #3 on grilled rye. Too bad we couldn’t make a stop at Schwab’s for a Coke and some chocolate. It was torn down in 1988 to build a hideous shopping monstrosity.
